The EAC declaration of conformity and the EAC Ex Certificate
With the creation of the Customs Union between the Russian Federation, Belarus, and Kazakhstan in 2010, there arose a need to create uniform procedures related to certification within the Customs Union. The certification within the Customs Union (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan) is intended to confirm the conformity of a given product with the norms and standards in force within the Customs Union. All norms and standards of the Customs Union are established as part of the activities of the authority that is the Customs Union Commission.
The common requirements were established; they were related to the confirmation of conformity and safety for the production of products which requires the relevant certificates prior to launching them on the market. The uniform format of the Customs Union Certificate of Conformity and the Customs Union Declaration of Conformity applicable throughout the territory of the Customs Union was approved.
Currently, the Euroasian Customs Union includes such countries as: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan.
